So what is fairtrade?

Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world. By requiring companies to pay sustainable prices (which must never fall lower than the market price), Fairtrade addresses the injustices of conventional trade, which traditionally discriminates against the poorest, weakest producers. It enables them to improve their position and have more control over their lives.

So how can you help?

How about swapping your usual purchases for a fairtrade one, whether it be tea, coffee, chocolate or clothes. You never know once you try you might never go back!

What are we doing?

At the baby duck shop we have a great selection of Organic Fairtrade clothes for your little ones from ethical suppliers who take pride in what they make. To help you make the swap even easier we are offering 20% off all Piccalilly, Organics for Kids and the Barley & Birch Lap Tees for the duration of the Fairtrade Fortnight (whilst stocks last!)

Simply enter code FAIRTRADE at the checkout and your shopping basket will be amended automatically.

With your help and by supporting Fairtrade you are helping  hundreds of farmers and workers better their lives and that of their familes!

So what is upcycling you may ask? Upcycling is the process of using items that would of otherwise been thrown away and making them into something else, something better!

At Barley & Birch an already eco concious company they have created a range of upcycled sweaters using designer offcuts, that would have otherwise gone to the tip. These make for some of the most gorgeous items of clothing I have ever come across.

To talk about them and see them in pictures really doesn’t do them justice, they are made from the most gorgeous of material, hand sewn to create the perfect sweater and best of all each one is completely unique so you are sure never to see another one like it! Ever!

So much rubbish is sent to the tip when it could be reused so why not support this fabulous art whilst dressing your children in one of a kind style that can be passed on for generations!

So why not take a look today at these and the other gorgeous Barley & Birch items we stock.
